Marina is a first generation student with Mexican heritage from Oklahoma City. She has been navigating academia for 9 years and is now on her way to a PhD program at SUNY-University at Albany . While higher education has taken her to some amazing places and incredible people around the world, the journey hasn’t been all smooth sailing. To refresh and recharge, Marina spends quality time with her partner and two cats/children. They enjoy walking, hiking, and simply enjoying the splendors of being outside and have lately dipped their toes in birding. But first, coffee!
