Shasta Nelson is passionate about all things friendship. As founder and CEO of GirlFriendCircles.com— the female-friendship learning community in over sixty cities throughout North America where women of all ages go to make local friends—she speaks and writes regularly on this important topic.

She is the author of two books: Friendships Don’t Just Happen! The Guide to Creating a Meaningful Circle of Girl- Friends and Frientimacy: How to Deepen Friendships for Lifelong Health and Happiness.  Her spirited and soulful voice can also be read at Shasta’s Friendship Blog and in her relationship health column in The Huffington Post. She delivers keynote addresses, teaches workshops, hosts retreats, and facilitates Friendship Accelerator and Speedfriending events in the U.S. and Canada.

She’s been interviewed on the Today show, Katie Couric’s show KatieThe Early Show, and on Fox Extra. She’s been consulted on friendship matters by writers and reporters from such magazines as Cosmopolitan, More, Real Simple, Redbook, and Good Housekeeping, and from such newspapers as The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and the San Francisco Chronicle.

But while her work is incredibly meaningful and important to her, it is her relationships that mean the most. She’s married to her best friend, Greg Nelson, is honored to be a stepmom to his three amazing kids, and is encircled by girlfriends, family members, and a community that enrich her life. They not only are the gym where she practices growing into a more compassionate, brave, and loving person—they are the people whose laughter and deep conversations fill her life and her soul.
